We recommend using an extra soft-bristled toothbrush, as medium and hard bristles can damage root surfaces and irritate your gums. Electric toothbrushes are also highly effective at removing plaque and have various settings, such as pressure sensors, to aid you in effectively cleaning your teeth.
For toothpaste, Dr. Zadeh recommends either a fluoridated dentifrice, or one that has nanohydroxyapatite, and that carries the ADA Seal of Acceptance to help keep your enamel strong and prevent cavities. Toothpastes that have a basic pH are also much better for your mouth, so avoid any toothpaste with whitening agents as those tend to make the toothpaste more acidic.
